26 July 2013 (Letter for August and September)
Dear Friends and Partners,
We trust that all is well with you. God has truly been doing wonderful things in our lives. Currently we are at home overseeing some needed remodeling of our house as well as getting some needed time off. Even Jesus would take some time off from ministering to the multitudes and “go apart” to rest and spend valuable time with His Father. In addition to the activities going on around us, we are attempting to spend time with the Father.
Over the past year, God has been speaking many things to us about “REST.” We are not speaking about the taking of time off as we mentioned in the first paragraph of this letter. We are speaking about entering a place of rest in the promises of God in which we are no longer striving to become something or someone in the Kingdom of God, but we are resting in the fact that we are who the Word says we are and that anxiety, fear and frustration have no part of our lives. The writer of Hebrews wrote, “There remains therefore a rest of the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest…” (Hebrews 4:9-11 NKJV).
We have mentioned this before, but God keeps urging us to encourage you to enter that place where so many of us never do: THE REST OF GOD. Israel was not able to enter directly into the “Promised Land” “…because of unbelief“(Hebrews 3:19 NKJV). Their “unbelief” was demonstrated by the doubt they had concerning God keeping His promises. They looked at the promises of God and wondered whether or not He would do what He said. How many of us have done the same thing concerning the promises that God has made to us?
It is our hope that in times like these that we are all facing in this phase of the history of the earth, you will be able to grasp hold of the truth that God will accomplish what He has promised. We have used this scripture in recent months as we have written to you, but God keeps bringing it to our hearts: “…being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ…” (Philippians 1:6 NKJV).
As we look forward to the next few months, we are planning to be in Colombia from the 19th of August until the 9th of September. We will in ministering in a number of churches in various cities in that nation. In addition to the ministry in Colombia, Eugene will be flying to the United Kingdom on the 19th of September to speak in at least two churches and to attend a conference in Wales. The conference is related to the ministry of Arthur Burt who worked with Smith Wigglesworth in the latter part of his life. Brother Arthur has recently celebrated his 101st birthday and is still ministering in the nations. Eugene keeps a photo of Brother Arthur taken this past January at our home church in Lithia, Florida in his cell phone to remind him of the promise of the Lord, “With long life I will satisfy him, and who him My salvation” (Psalm 91:16 NKJV).
We are also looking forward to our annual “ONE DAY CONFERENCE” to be held on the 14th of October in Morrisville, Vermont. Our theme for this year is “BUILDING THE NATION OF GOD.” We invite everyone, and especially those from the Northeastern United States and Eastern Canada, to join us at New Beginning Miracle Fellowship, 927 Laporte Road, Morrisville, Vermont 05661. Since the church will be providing lunch, we ask that you make reservations by calling 802-888-4730 or 802-888-3903. (French interpretation will be provided.)
God is doing wonderful things among all of us and we want to encourage you to share the good news of His faithfulness. We would love to hear from you with the good reports of what He has accomplished in your lives. It is our prayer that you experience the mighty power and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ and that the blessings of God are poured out upon your lives.
Eugene & Sherry
