January 2014

26 December 2013

Dear Friends and Partners,

These have been such wonderful days.  Eugene celebrated his seventieth birthday and we celebrated our forty-ninth wedding anniversary.  We were so blessed that many of you helped us celebrate his birthday with cards, letters and e-mails.  The love that you expressed has helped set the stage for the next steps in our journey with God.

As we look toward 2014, we remember the past and the victories won in Jesus.  The apostle Paul encourages us with these words, “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ…” (2 Corinthians 2:14 NKJV)  2013 has been a year filled with the joy of the Lord and we anticipate greater joy as we step into the future that God has prepared.

All of us are living in a time in which the “certainties” that we have known seem to be changing daily.  We often hear from people who are wondering what is going to happen and some have even asked, “Is God really in control.”  There was a time when Israel asked, “Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?” (Psalm 78:19 NKJV)  “Defeat” and “despair” are not to be a part of the vocabulary of the believer.

This morning, as we began writing this letter, we remembered the words of an old hymn,

In times like these I have a Savior,
In times like these I have an anchor;
I’m very sure, I’m very sure
My anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

God has not changed and He has not changed His mind concerning any of us.  Nothing you or we could do would cause Him to change His mind.  We are also reminded of these words of encouragement:  “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)

You will notice from the calendar that we will be in Indiana and Illinois for the latter part of January and the first few days of February.  We will also be attending the annual R & R (Rest and Relaxation) gathering for Apostolic Resource Ministries.  The R & R is one of the highlights of the years for us as we spend time with fellow ministers and leaders in the Body of Christ.

As we look forward, we are planning ministry trips to the Ivory Coast, Canada and France.  We ask that you be in prayer with us as we finalize the plans over the next few weeks.  It is important that we have people like you agreeing with us for the success of Eagles Wings, Inc.

In Jesus,

Eugene & Sherry
