25 January 2018

Dear Friends and Partners,

We are truly celebrating life. The Apostle Paul declared, “In Him [God] we live and move and have our being…” (Acts 17:28). We have truly come to understand more deeply this truth during these last days.

This past month and a half has been one of the most trying times of our lives, and yet it was turned into a time of rejoicing. You who receive this letter know that Eugene was to have elective surgery for several hernias on the 8th of December. He had the surgery, which was to be a simple procedure, but something went wrong and he was very close to death for a number of days. He is now at home growing stronger day by day, but we have had to cancel all of our meetings and plans for the foreseeable future.

Eugene was on a respirator for over a week and as a result lost his voice, which is beginning to return. We believe that everything that was taken from us during this physical battle is being restored and that our testimony of faith and the faithfulness of God will be stronger than ever.

(This is directly from me, Eugene.) I must tell you that Sherry is a warrior. She took a stand of faith against the enemy at the beginning and held on to her “confession of faith” through the entire situation. I am reminded of the instruction of the Apostle Paul when he said, “Since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, ‘I BELIEVED AND THEREFORE I SPOKE,’ we also believe and therefore speak…” (2 Corinthians 4:13). It is my personal conviction that I am alive due to four things: (1) the faith of Sherry, (2) the faith of my family, (3) the faith of all of you who knew the circumstance and believed with us and (4) the faithfulness of God.

As we look to the future, we know that God has us in the palm of His hand. We do not have an exact time to begin ministering again, but we know that God will show us the time and the direction. God has always been faithful and He will not fail. We ask that you pray for us to follow the plan that God has for us.

It is with hearts of love that we pray for each of you. We pray that the provision, health, and protection of God will be upon each of your lives.

In Jesus,

Eugene & Sherry
