Dear Friends and Partners,
We are writing this letter in the midst of the Christmas Season. When we look back at the birth of Jesus, He was truly bringing forth a new opportunity to the world through the salvation that He provided. As we look forward to the New Year, we see an abundance of new opportunities for each of us as members of the Church of Jesus Christ. The Psalmist wrote: “This is the DAY the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24 NKJV). He was looking forward to the “DAY” of the coming of the Lord the first time, and we look forward to all that He will do in our “DAY.”
God has made great provision physically, materially and spiritually for each of us. The Word of God reminds us that “We are His people and the sheep of His pasture” (Psalm 100:3 NKJV). Being His sheep means that He will lead us, feed us, guide us and protect us. God spoke a wonderful word concerning us that seems to put all things into proper perspective: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV).
During the month of November, we were able to spend time ministering in France, Switzerland and England. God blessed us extremely as we ministered to His people in those nations. We also saw many people make decisions to receive Jesus as Savior, and many were touched by the power of the Holy Spirit. Healings and miracles were a part of our daily ministry as people responded to the Word of God.
Our hearts were saddened at the loss of our Spiritual son, David McCann, in Canada. David worked with us as a translator into French for many of our meetings in the U.S. and Canada. Much of His life was spent as a minister in the Salvation Army. After receiving the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, he became the pastor of the Kahnawake Pentecostal Church on the Kahnawake First Nations Reserve. It was impossible for us to return from Europe in time for his funeral. We are planning to be in Canada in January and minister to the Kahnawake Pentecostal Church and encourage them in the faith.
As we continue looking to February, we will be ministering at Legacy Life Church and Whosoever Will Full Gospel Church in Indiana. We will be helping Whosoever Will celebrate their 20th anniversary as a church. In addition to ministry in the churches, we plan to attend the annual R&R (Rest and Relaxation) retreat for the members of Apostolic Resource Ministries and the annual meeting of Apex Christian Alliance. At the end of the month, we will be with Centre Évangélique Nouvelle Alliance in Ottawa, Ontario and Vaudreuil, Quebec.
You will notice from our calendar that we have not filled either January or February with meetings. The reason is two-fold. First, we have been in ministry 54 years together and Eugene just celebrated his 75th birthday. Second, we believe that the Lord is directing us to slow our pace and take better care of our physical bodies. We have been planning this for some time and we ask that you pray for us as we take this step of faith. Oh, we will still be traveling to the nations, but not as often as before.
We want you to know that each of you is very important to us and we pray that the blessing of the Lord will rest upon each of you as we enter the New Year.
Eugene & Sherry
