Letter for March and April 2016
25 February 2016
Dear Friends and Partners,
Writing this newsletter is always a pleasure simply because we are able to share with you the joy that we have as fellow believers in our Lord, Jesus Christ. Nehemiah spoke to Israel in a time that was potentially difficult and said, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). We are able to say today that the joy of the LORD truly is our strength.
January and February were filled with both joy and sadness for we lost two very close friends in death. First, our long time friend, Don Corder, who aided us greatly in writing the book A MAN USED OF GOD, passed away. Second, Monique Gendron, who along with her husband Robert aided us with our ministry in Canada, also passed away. We know that they are rejoicing in the presence of the LORD. We who knew them have experienced sadness but we remember the words of the Psalmist who said, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5 NKJV).
We have had a change of plans as we look to the months of March and April. In March we plan to be on the Island of Trinidad. We had planned to be in France for the month of April but the Lord spoke to us that we needed to postpone that trip until June. We didn’t know His reason but obeyed and a few days later we receive a call from the leader of Mission South America, Marcela Macmillan, asking us to be in Cali, Colombia for the 40th anniversary of the ministry in Colombia. At the same time, four additional churches invited us to minister in Colombia. God had spoken to us that He would interrupt our plans in order to fulfill His and this is but one example.
Recently we had the opportunity to attend two very important meetings. One was the APEX Christian Ministries Conference held in West Baden Springs, Indiana. It was during that meeting that God spoke a tremendous word of encouragement concerning the extent of our future ministry. The other meeting was the annual R & R [Rest and Relaxation] with ARM [Apostolic Resource Ministries] held in Nashville, Indiana. It was during that meeting that God began to put into place one thing that He has for us to accomplish as we step into our future with ARM. Needless to say, we are very excited about what God is doing in our lives.
God is not only moving in our lives, we believe that He is moving in your lives as well. Our prayer is that God “will…open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it” (Malachi 3:10 NKJV). We know that the love of the LORD is upon you and that you are being blessed exceedingly.
